Hello everyone! I’m Emily and I’m from Cary, NC, although I\ncurrently go to high school in Durham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can’t believe that we’ll be leaving for Beijing in less\nthan 24 hours! Although I have visited China twice before, it’s been a couple\nof years since I last went. It will be interesting to view the country through\na different perspective, as the last two times I went were to visit\nrelatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The past few weeks have been extremely busy, filled with schoolwork, science competitions, and scholarship applications. I feel like there are still a million things I need to do before we leave, including some last-minute packing and taking my stats test. I\u2019ve also been thinking about how to present my project in Chinese, although there are quite a few technical terms without direct translations. Looking forward to this trip has definitely kept me motivated over the last three months, especially during college apps season. I can’t imagine a better way to wrap-up my senior year than embarking on this international adventure, and I am beyond excited to present my research in Beijing. I am so grateful for this opportunity – I know it will be the experience of a lifetime! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
